Special Education Teacher in Waterbury, VT

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials, meeting all state certification requirements
• Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instructional methods to individual learning needs
• Strong ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Commitment to in-person instruction; virtual positions are not available for this role
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to students with varying disabilities, following individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress, modify instructional plans, and participate in IEP meetings
• Implement evidence-based strategies to promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Engage with families and staff to create an inclusive, positive learning environment
• Maintain accurate and timely records as required by the district and state regulations

Contract Details:

• Full-time, in-person positions—37.5 hours per week
• Term runs from August 28, 2026, to June 18, 2027
• Two separate openings: one at the middle school level, one at the elementary level
