Special Education Teacher - Andover, MN

Take on a pivotal role supporting young learners as a part-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity runs from August 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule with approximately 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE). You’ll work closely with elementary students, providing specialized instruction and guidance within an ABS caseload, making a daily impact in a vibrant, collaborative educational setting.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license, Tier 3 or Tier 4 (required)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting preferred
• Strong understanding of ABS (Autism Spectrum/Behavioral) caseload management
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to individualized instruction and educational plans
• Professional demeanor and dedication to student success
• Ability to provide a current resume

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) tailored to student needs
• Deliver engaging, adaptive instruction and behavioral support in the classroom
• Coordinate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals
• Communicate progress and strategies with families
• Monitor and document student growth and progress
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
