Special Education Teacher in Anaheim, CA

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist Instruction Credential (active and required)
• Prior experience with high school grades 9-12 preferred, particularly with Autism Spectrum Disorder and extensive support needs
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, families, and support staff
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students with significant learning needs
• Develop and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the IEP team
• Collaborate closely with staff and families to maximize student growth and independence
• Create and maintain organized, engaging classroom environments tailored to student strengths and needs
• Collect data and conduct assessments to inform instruction and report progress
• Provide behavioral, social, and emotional support aligned with best practices
