Make a difference supporting students with special needs in a dynamic school setting near Hayward, CA! Two full-time contract openings are available for the 26/27 school year for dedicated educators passionate about inclusive education and student growth. As an SDC teacher, you’ll lead either a Transitional Kindergarten or a Kindergarten-1st Grade class, creating engaging and supportive learning experiences for diverse learners.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Valid California CTC certification in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Special Education (required)
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for cultivating a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students in a designated SDC class (TK or K-1)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with other specialists and families
  • Utilize a variety of strategies and resources to address varying learning needs
  • Track student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom community
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators
