Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a school setting
  • Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong ability to modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom culture

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver instruction tailored to each student's IEP goals
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and adaptive materials to enhance learning
  • Evaluate student progress using data-driven assessments
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and parents
  • Maintain detailed, timely, and compliant documentation of student progress and interventions
  • Provide support and guidance to instructional aides within the classroom
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
