Job Description
Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher, working with bright and motivated 7th and 8th grade students in a supportive school setting. With structured morning hours—8am to 11am (Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri) and 8am to 10am on Wednesdays—you’ll guide a class of 14 to 16 students, creating impactful educational experiences.
What you’ll bring:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credential (MUST HAVE)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the middle school level
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and the ability to adapt instruction to various learning styles
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to a caseload of 7th and 8th graders (ages 12/13), focusing on both academic and social-emotional development
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to implement IEP goals
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Communicate regularly with families to support student growth
- Foster a culture of respect, discovery, and achievement within the classroom
