Here’s an exciting contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in a supportive school environment near Milpitas and Sunnyvale, CA. In this part-time role, you'll provide instruction to a small group of 7th and 8th-grade students (ages 12 and 13), contributing to a meaningful and inclusive educational experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am – 11am, with Wednesdays from 8am – 10am, covering first to third periods. You'll be the primary teacher for a caseload between 14 and 16 students and play a vital role in shaping their learning journey.
This position offers a highly competitive hourly rate ranging from $40 to $55, ensuring your expertise and dedication are well rewarded.
Qualifications:
- Current and active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Teaching Credential (required)
- Previous experience working with middle school students in a special education setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to individual student needs and learning styles
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to 7th and 8th grade students with mild/moderate disabilities
- Develop and modify lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
