Special Education Teacher in Dixon, CA

Step into an impactful role supporting students in a dedicated Special Day Class at the middle school level. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll work full-time, Monday through Friday, from now through the end of the school year. Your expertise will help guide students with unique learning needs, fostering their growth and development in an encouraging, structured setting.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or credential (Education Specialist)
• Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of IEPs and ability to implement accommodations and modifications
• Collaborative approach—comfortable working with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Flexibility and creativity to respond to the varying needs of students
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Special Day Class instruction for a group of middle school students with diverse abilities
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to ensure access, engagement, and success for each learner
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and document progress
• Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Maintain consistent communication with families and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
• Participate in professional development, meetings, and school activities as needed
