Job Description

Make a difference in K-12 education as a contract Occupational Therapist in the San Juan Capistrano area. Support student success at the elementary school level, providing therapy and intervention services for a dynamic campus. This assignment covers a leave of absence for the fall semester, requiring a dedicated, proactive professional ready to make an immediate impact. Full-time hours are preferred (five days per week), but part-time applicants will also be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current, active California Occupational Therapist (OT) license
  • Proven experience delivering OT services in a school setting
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with educational teams
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing needs
  • Must be willing to work on-site; remote and COTA applications are not accepted

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations, develop IEP goals, and implement therapy plans for elementary students
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation according to district requirements
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute your expertise during periods of education board change
  • Serve as a resource for adaptive strategies promoting student performance in academic environments
