Job Description
Step into a rewarding role this fall as an Occupational Therapist, supporting students and educators at an elementary campus in the San Juan Capistrano area. You’ll be covering a leave of absence for the regular therapist, playing a pivotal part in helping children thrive within an engaged, supportive setting during a period of organizational development. Both full-time or part-time candidates will be considered to ensure the best fit for you and the students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current, active California Occupational Therapy license
- Proven school-based OT experience—ready to work independently from day one
- Strong communication skills and adaptability, especially in dynamic educational environments
- Passion for enhancing student access, participation, and learning
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- COTA applications will not be considered for this position
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for elementary-age students
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services within the classroom and therapy setting
- Complete necessary documentation and progress reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Work closely with educational teams to develop support strategies that integrate therapy goals into the daily school environment
- Attend IEP meetings, provide recommendations, and participate in staff collaboration as needed
- Adapt quickly to changes, especially as district needs and priorities shift
This is an onsite contract role starting in September and running through December, offering a meaningful way to contribute to student well-being while furthering your professional skills. The workweek is typically five days, though part-time may be available for the right candidate.
