Occupational Therapist School Setting in Sunnyvale, CA

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist eager to make a difference in a school setting near San Jose and Sunnyvale, California! This contract position is part-time and begins as soon as possible, extending through mid-June. You'll work onsite, collaborating closely with students, educators, and families to support student growth and foster an inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates bring expertise in pediatric therapy—supporting students with developmental disabilities in educational contexts—along with experience in teamwork and effective family communication. This is an onsite-only position and does not offer virtual or hybrid flexibility.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Possess a current, valid Occupational Therapy license for California, or meet eligibility requirements under the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience specializing in pediatric therapy, ideally focused on developmental disabilities and working within schools
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators, multidisciplinary teams, and families
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Passion for promoting student independence and functional capabilities in daily school life

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and develop individualized intervention strategies for students with diverse needs
• Deliver direct occupational therapy services in line with IEPs and school objectives
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create supportive learning environments
• Document progress and participate in student meetings to ensure comprehensive support
• Empower students with tools and adaptations that help them achieve classroom success
