School-Based Social Worker | Dearborn, Michigan

In this role, you will:

• Facilitate Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of student support strategies.
• Employ Crisis Intervention and Prevention techniques to effectively de-escalate emotionally or physically aggressive behaviors, ensuring a safe and supportive school environment.
• Coordinate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and monitor intervention plans tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Provide direct social work services individually and in groups using evidence-based approaches.
• Maintain thorough documentation of services and interventions as required by regulatory standards.
• Manage billing for services performed through the county Medicaid system, ensuring appropriate and timely reimbursement.

Preferred skills and experience include:

• Licensed Master’s-level Social Worker (MSW) with valid Michigan credentialing for school-based practice.
• Experience working in elementary or high-needs school settings.
• Expertise in Crisis Intervention and Prevention strategies, with current training certification.
• Familiarity with Medicaid billing processes for schools.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
