Step into a dynamic K-12 school community as a dedicated MTSS Social Worker/Counselor, offering your expertise to support students across general education settings. This contract-based opportunity, conveniently located near Flint, MI (with positions posted in Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit), is ideal for professionals ready to make a meaningful impact during the 2026-2027 academic year (August 17 - June 11). The role requires 35 hours per week onsite, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster academic, behavioral, and social success.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
- Active LMSW, LPC, or eligibility as an LLMSW/LLPC (with expectation to obtain full licensure).
- Michigan LARA license and MDE School Social Worker Approval.
- Official university transcripts required.
- Previous experience in public school social work or counseling, preferably with collaborative team settings.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) is highly valued.
- Comfortable with onsite responsibilities supporting K-12 students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Guide staff in data collection and make recommendations for student interventions.
- Design and implement tiered support strategies; provide case management for families needing multiple services.
- Participate in MTSS meetings, parent conferences, and support teams while managing intervention data and progress tracking.
- Empower parents to actively engage in their child’s educational journey.
- Deliver individual and group counseling, adhering to district procedures and maintaining meticulous documentation.
- Coordinate services and support for individual families in line with district policies.
