School-Based Social Worker - Grand Blanc, Michigan
Job Description
Play an important role in supporting student success as a contract Social Worker/Counselor specializing in Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) for a K-12 setting. This opportunity is based near Grand Blanc, MI, with a focus on delivering impactful social work services for the 2026-2027 academic year (August 17 to June 11). You’ll be an integral resource to school teams, students, and families, working 35 hours per week onsite.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (MSW or Counseling) from an accredited institution.
- Current State of Michigan full licensure as a social worker (LMSW) or counselor (LPC).
- Will consider Limited License (LLMSW/LLPC) with the expectation of obtaining full licensure.
- Prior experience in a public school or educational agency setting is preferred.
- Comfort collaborating with teams in K-12 environments.
- Familiarity with MTSS and collaborative team approaches.
- Comfortable providing documentation, including LARA license, MDE Social Work Approval, and official university transcripts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and recommend data collection and intervention strategies.
- Design and implement tiered supports; consult with educators for case management support.
- Participate in MTSS meetings, parent conferences, and student support sessions.
- Deliver research-based, data-driven intervention strategies to staff.
- Track and provide progress reports to MTSS Supervisor.
- Engage parents and families as partners in students’ educational journeys.
- Offer individual and/or group interventions and behavioral supports.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and maintain accurate student encounter logs.
- Coordinate wraparound services for students and their families.
