Special Education Para Professional in Elk River, MN

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of middle schoolers supporting center-based programs as a paraprofessional in a highly engaging setting. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience at the middle school level, working closely with students in specialized education environments and assisting with a variety of classroom and personal care needs.

Your passion for helping students with diverse needs thrive will be highly valued. After an initial 90-day contracting period (32.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday), you will have the opportunity to convert to a direct hire role.

What You’ll Bring:

• Highly qualified status by one of the following:
  • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (MN Para Educator Exam)
  • At least 60 college credits (must provide official transcript)
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school environment
• Willingness and physical ability to assist with toileting and daily living support
• Readiness to work in a center-based special education setting (Setting 2–3 caseload)
• Strong teamwork skills and effective communication with students and staff
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability in dynamic environments

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Support students in daily classroom activities and individualized learning plans
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to promote academic and behavioral growth
• Assist with self-care, mobility, and toileting needs as required
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students
• Maintain documentation and uphold confidentiality and safety standards

This role starts approximately August 31, 2026, and runs through November 29, 2026, with pathways for future employment. You’ll earn $20 per hour in this contract-to-hire opportunity.
