In this position, you’ll work exclusively at a Setting 4 site, providing hands-on support to students who receive special education services throughout their school day. The environment is dynamic, and the needs are diverse—ideal for those with a strong commitment to helping students with the most intensive needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly qualified status required: either 60 college credits (verified by transcripts) or a passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam
- Experience as a Paraprofessional, preferably in behavioral or high-support settings
- Willingness to assist with all aspects of personal care, including toileting
- Ability to work with students of various ages (elementary through high school)
- Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability
- Resume and qualifying documentation (transcripts or test score) required for consideration
Responsibilities:
- Support daily routines and individualized learning plans for students with significant special needs
- Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment
- Collaborate closely with licensed staff and other support team professionals
- Assist with personal care and interventions as needed
- Monitor student behavior and implement crisis de-escalation strategies as trained
- Help with classroom activities, transitions, and supervision throughout the school day
This role offers consistent full-time hours (32.5 hours/week, M–F) and the possibility for direct hire after approximately 422 contracted hours. Compensation is $20 per hour.
