Special Education Para Professional in Elk River, MN

In this position, you’ll work exclusively at a Setting 4 site, providing hands-on support to students who receive special education services throughout their school day. Key Qualifications:

• Highly qualified status required: either 60 college credits (verified by transcripts) or a passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam
• Experience as a Paraprofessional, preferably in behavioral or high-support settings
• Willingness to assist with all aspects of personal care, including toileting
• Ability to work with students of various ages (elementary through high school)
• Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability
• Resume and qualifying documentation (transcripts or test score) required for consideration

Responsibilities:

• Support daily routines and individualized learning plans for students with significant special needs
• Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment
• Collaborate closely with licensed staff and other support team professionals
• Assist with personal care and interventions as needed
• Monitor student behavior and implement crisis de-escalation strategies as trained
• Help with classroom activities, transitions, and supervision throughout the school day

This role offers consistent full-time hours (32.5 hours/week, M–F) and the possibility for direct hire after approximately 422 contracted hours. Compensation is $20 per hour.
