Special Education Para Professional in Hartford, CT

Two positions are available: one at a middle school and another at an elementary school, each offering rewarding ways to foster the educational journeys of young learners.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven paraprofessional experience, preferably in school settings
• Ability to collaborate closely with teachers to support classroom learning and student engagement
• Completion of required state trainings (must be able to obtain if not current)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, encouraging attitude
• Flexibility and reliability to meet the needs of students and the school team

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support to students in classroom environments—primarily in general education settings
• Assist educators by implementing instructional plans and adapting resources as needed
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere that helps every student thrive
• Model respectful communication and reinforce positive behaviors
• Contribute to daily classroom organization and activities as directed by staff
• Attend onsite interviews as part of the hiring process

Schedule Overview:

• Middle School Role: Part-time, Mondays & Thursdays only, 7:30 AM – 2:40 PM (30-min unpaid lunch), August 27 – November 30
• Elementary Role: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (30-min unpaid lunch), August 27 – June 11
