Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting children’s communication and language development in a vibrant educational environment near Machesney Park, IL. This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week within a school setting, with three immediate openings available. Caseloads comprise either elementary or early childhood students, providing a chance to tailor your skills to the age group that excites you most. The position begins with orientation on August 3rd, and continues through the complete academic year, concluding May 28th.

Preferred candidates are flexible, collaborative, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in students’ lives across the 2026-2027 school year. Both seasoned clinicians and those seeking their Clinical Fellowship Year are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois state license as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) active, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
  • SLP-CCC and SLP-CFY candidates welcome
  • Prior experience or strong interest in a school setting
  • Commitment to working full-time throughout the academic year
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assess speech, language, and communication abilities of students
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Provide therapy sessions individually and in small groups
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
  • Engage in professional development as needed
