Occupational Therapist School Setting in Ruston, LA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and independence as a part-time Occupational Therapist in the school setting. This onsite role covers four dynamic school sites and offers the chance to make a direct impact in the educational environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

In this position, you’ll be working approximately 20-25 hours per week, offering your expertise to multiple campuses, and helping students overcome barriers to learning and participation. As an additional leadership facet, you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), further enhancing your professional development.

Qualifications & Desired Background:

• Active Occupational Therapy license in Louisiana (LA OT License required)
• Experience in school-based OT roles preferred
• Comfortable supervising a COTA or previous supervisory experience a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to travel between multiple school sites as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to students across four schools, tailoring interventions to meet IEP goals
• Assess and document student progress, writing thorough and timely reports
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families for student-centered care
• Supervise and support a COTA, ensuring quality and consistency in service delivery
• Contribute actively to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary discussions
