Special Education Teacher | Frederick, Maryland

Two full-time opportunities are available for contract Special Education Teachers for the upcoming school year, working onsite at a respected district in the Frederick, MD area. Your unique skills will support students in both middle and elementary school settings, providing an environment where every learner can thrive.

In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on a caseload of students who need your dedication and individualized approach. The assignments involve working at Oakdale Middle School with 15 students in the “Learning for Life” program (7:30 am - 3:30 pm), and at another elementary site (site to be determined), where you’ll teach a self-contained classroom of 10 students (9:00 am - 3:30 pm).

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education certification appropriate for grade level assignments
• Experience working with middle school and/or elementary students in special education settings
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, aides, and support personnel
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instruction to meet diverse needs
• Commitment to fostering a safe and positive learning environment

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual students
• Use evidence-based strategies to enhance engagement and progress
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff
• Monitor and document student growth
• Support classroom management and student inclusion
