Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in Maryland. Two full-time, on-site positions are available for the upcoming school year, offering the chance to make a direct and meaningful impact at both Oakdale Middle School and a second elementary campus.
At Oakdale Middle, you’ll work with 15 students in the Learning for Life Program, helping each child reach their fullest potential in a nurturing school environment from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The second position supports a self-contained elementary classroom of 10 students, with hours from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Both roles run from August 17th through June 4th, ensuring consistency for your students and a predictable schedule for you.
Qualifications:
- Valid special education certification in the required age group for assigned role.
- Prior experience teaching students with diverse learning needs is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork with other educators and support staff.
- Enthusiasm for fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instructional activities to meet IEP goals and accommodate varied learning styles.
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with families and colleagues.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment.
