Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with the district’s most intensive social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This full-time School Psychologist contract offers the opportunity to work within the Promising Students Program, utilizing your expertise in behavioral and counseling strategies to facilitate positive change. Located near Beaufort, SC, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver trauma-informed, comprehensive services that foster resilience, academic achievement, and lifelong skills in students.

In this vital role, the focus is on early intervention, trauma-informed approaches, and data-driven decision making. You will help decrease behavioral incidents and disciplinary removals, while supporting emotional regulation, problem-solving, and interpersonal growth in students.

Key qualifications and desired experience:

  • Current School Psychologist certification or license, with strong background in behavioral and counseling services
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices and students exhibiting intensive behavioral or social-emotional needs
  • Skilled in conducting psychoeducational and behavioral evaluations
  • Proficient in developing and monitoring Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
  • Previous experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) preferred

Primary responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and small-group counseling
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments and behavioral evaluations
  • Complete FBAs and assist in developing BIPs
  • Consult with teachers and families regarding intervention strategies
  • Support MTSS implementation across settings
  • Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings
  • Provide crisis response and safety planning
  • Develop transition plans to help students successfully reintegrate into their home schools
