School Psychologist | Beaufort, South Carolina

Make a meaningful impact by providing vital behavioral and mental health services to students with intensive social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This contract role in the Promising Students Program supports early intervention and trauma-informed practices, reducing barriers to academic success across the district.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Certification or eligibility as a School Psychologist
• Strong background in behavioral assessment and counseling
• Experience with trauma-informed strategies and interventions
• Familiarity with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered problem-solving

Primary responsibilities include:

• Delivering individual and small-group counseling focused on social–emotional development
• Conducting psychoeducational and behavioral evaluations to inform interventions
• Completing FBAs and contributing to effective BIPs
• Supporting the implementation of MTSS at both school and district levels
• Consulting with teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student success
• Participating in IEP and Section 504 meetings as a behavioral health resource
• Assisting with crisis response situations and safety planning for students in need
• Developing transition plans to facilitate smooth reintegration to home schools
