Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their behavioral and mental health in a dynamic school-based environment. A contract opportunity is available for an experienced School Psychologist to join a Promising Students Program serving students with complex social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This role is instrumental in delivering trauma-informed, data-driven interventions and fostering academic and personal growth for students who require intensive supports.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (or eligibility) in South Carolina
- Proven background in behavioral and counseling interventions
- Expertise in psychoeducational and behavioral evaluation techniques
- Familiarity with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Experience supporting Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and families
- Ability to participate effectively in IEP and Section 504 meetings
- Experience with crisis response and transition planning preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group counseling to address various student needs
- Conduct psychoeducational and behavioral assessments to inform interventions
- Complete FBAs and contribute to the development and monitoring of BIPs
- Collaborate with school staff to implement MTSS and trauma-informed practices
- Serve as a resource to teachers and families, advocating for student success
- Assist with crisis management, safety planning, and transition plans for reintegration
- Participate in relevant meetings to ensure coordinated student support
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week contract position.
