Step into an impactful school-based contract opportunity focused on supporting student success and well-being. This full-time position consists of 37.5 hours per week, beginning August 2026 and continuing through May 2027. You’ll work onsite among a dynamic interdisciplinary team, serving diverse student populations in a supportive educational environment near Columbia, SC. Two positions are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, utilizing a variety of assessment tools to determine student eligibility for special education services.
  • Prepare clear, thorough evaluation reports and effectively communicate findings to parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Observe student behavior, analyze academic records, and consult relevant medical or developmental information.
  • Provide mental health services, including individual and group counseling.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote academic success, positive behavior, and emotional health for all students, regardless of disability status.
  • Participate in school teams, multidisciplinary placement meetings, and IEP development.
  • Offer crisis intervention services and help coordinate crisis management at various educational levels.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including mental health and social service providers, to benefit students and families.
  • Maintain documentation, prepare required forms (including Medicaid), and keep current on professional developments and legal requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in school psychology required.
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a school psychologist intern or equivalent.
  • Current state certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Strong analytic, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology for assessments, recordkeeping, and correspondence.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Adaptable under pressure and responsive in crisis situations.
