Step into a rewarding classroom environment supporting middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. This contract opportunity is tailored for a Special Education Teacher passionate about making a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys. You'll collaborate closely with students who have high-level autism and those requiring either adapted curriculum, significant resource support, or high inclusion, ensuring every learner thrives in the environment best suited for their success.

Bring your expertise to a school year beginning August 13, 2026, and ending June 3, 2027, with a regular Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, supporting up to 40 working hours each week. Your focus will be on a manageable caseload of 15–18 students, offering the opportunity to develop close connections while addressing varied academic and behavioral goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license, with category relevant to adapted curriculum (especially important for adapted curriculum positions)
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with high-level autism and/or significant inclusion/resource needs
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and curriculum adaptation in inclusive and resource settings
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills
  • Ability to create engaging and individualized lesson plans aligned with extended content standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction across inclusion, resource, or adapted curriculum settings based on specific assignment
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Use data-driven strategies to track student progress and adjust instruction
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom culture
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
