Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle and high school students with diverse needs. This role will allow you to empower students with significant learning differences, focusing on those with high-level autism and those receiving adapted or resource-based instruction. The assignment spans August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, for up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
You’ll take on a caseload of 15-18 students at the middle and high school levels. Your expertise will shine in environments such as an adapted curriculum classroom, resource-based settings, and inclusion/resource models. Collaborate closely with fellow educators and support staff to ensure each student accesses a tailored educational pathway.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (adapted curriculum license required for adapted setting)
- Experience or enthusiasm for working with students with high-level autism or requiring extended content standards
- Strong skills in adapting instruction, developing IEPs, and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with resource and inclusion models in middle or high school settings
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and structured classroom environment
Responsibilities:
