This role centers around a separate setting classroom with a small group of 10 students and the vital support of two experienced teaching assistants. Your day will begin bright and early, with working hours from 7:30am to 3:00pm, creating a stable and predictable environment for your students. You’ll leverage your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to design and implement individualized instructional plans, track progress, and collaborate with colleagues and families to foster each student’s success.
Skills and Background:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification required.
- Experience working in an elementary separate setting or similar classroom strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP implementation and compliance.
- Confidence in differentiating instruction to meet a variety of learning needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver personalized lessons tailored to students’ unique needs.
- Coordinate with teaching assistants to support instructional activities and classroom routines.
- Maintain thorough records and progress reports in compliance with all regulations.
- Communicate regularly and positively with families and school professionals.
