Job Description
Make an impact supporting students with unique learning needs as an experienced Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity involves working full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm, providing expertise and support across settings that serve middle and high school students with varying degrees of need. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team and enjoy a manageable caseload of 15-18 students.
This opportunity includes roles supporting students on the adapted curriculum track—particularly those with higher levels of autism and those requiring resource or inclusion support models. Your work will be instrumental in fostering growth and empowering students to achieve their goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License, with Adapted Curriculum endorsement required for select roles
- Demonstrated experience with middle and high school students, particularly in adapted and resource/inclusion settings
- Strong understanding of extended content standards and accommodations for students with autism and/or significant needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and progress monitoring skills
- Passion for advocacy and differentiated instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver adapted or resource/inclusion instruction to support IEP goals and academic development
- Modify curriculum and teaching strategies to ensure engagement and access for all students
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families for holistic programming
- Track student progress and participate in IEP writing and meetings
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
