Special Education Teacher | Sacramento, California

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential support to middle school students as a Special Education Teacher, utilizing your expertise in a structured SDC environment. This role is located in the Dixon area, close to Sacramento, and is designed for educators with a passion for working with students in grades 6-8 who thrive with specialized support.

You’ll play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive classroom experience for a caseload of 12 students, working full time from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Fridays. The contract runs from ASAP through June 6, 2027, giving you stability and the chance to make a measurable impact over several school years.

Key Qualifications:

• Must hold active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credentials
• Experience supporting middle school students in a special day class (SDC) setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Ability to design and implement IEP goals for students with diverse learning needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for a small group of middle school students
• Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with families and school staff
• Foster a supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom culture
• Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and administrators to drive student success
• Track progress and document data to inform ongoing instructional decisions
