Job Description
Make a real impact working with elementary students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in mild/moderate disabilities. This full-time opportunity, located near Lathrop in Tracy, CA, runs from ASAP through late May 2027. Support students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade, collaborating with dedicated educators to create an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
In this contract role, you’ll address diverse student needs, develop tailored instruction plans, and foster a supportive classroom culture. The caseload will focus on students requiring mild to moderate intervention, allowing you to utilize your expertise daily.
Qualifications:
- Current and active California mild/moderate Special Education Teacher credential (required)
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably within special education settings
- Understanding of IEPs, behavioral strategies, and differentiated instruction methods
- Commitment to creating an adaptive and empathetic classroom atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs within the Tk–8th caseload
- Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation
- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach
- Engage families and guardians in their students’ academic and behavioral growth
