Special Education Teacher | Davis, California

Make a meaningful impact in a supportive middle school environment as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Special Day Class (SDC) instruction. This full-time contract role runs Monday through Friday from now until the end of the school year. You'll have the opportunity to guide and support students in a dedicated special education setting, collaborating with a committed team of educators.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching credential with authorization for Special Day Classes (SDC)
• Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Skilled in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students in SDC, aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Develop and modify lesson plans suited to student abilities and goals
• Track and report student progress, maintaining detailed documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to promote student growth
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
