Step into a rewarding part-time opportunity supporting middle school students on their path to success! Located near Fremont, CA, this contract role focuses on providing exceptional special education services to a small group of 7th and 8th graders in a dynamic educational environment. With a manageable caseload of 14 to 16 students aged 12 to 13, you'll play a pivotal role during 1st to 3rd periods on a schedule that values your time—Monday through Friday from 8am to 11am, with Wednesday hours from 8am to 10am.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
  • Prior experience teaching special education at the middle school level preferred
  • Strong ability to collaborate with general education staff, support team members, and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Provide direct instruction, modify curriculum, and adapt learning activities to promote student success
  • Utilize progress monitoring tools to assess and document student growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and interdisciplinary team discussions
  • Guide classroom aides and ensure continuity of care and instruction
  • Foster positive relationships and a supportive classroom culture
