Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (as required by state guidelines)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous classroom experience with students requiring individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and ability to adapt curricula accordingly
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
- Organizational talent to manage records and document student progress effectively
- A compassionate and patient approach to education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction tailored to each student's IEP goals
- Assess student needs and collaborate with educational teams to develop, update, and implement individualized plans
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom environment
- Use evidence-based strategies and interventions to support learning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for student progress and compliance requirements
- Provide guidance and support to paraprofessional staff as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals
