Make a meaningful impact supporting high school students with special needs in a dynamic educational environment near West Covina, CA. This full-time contract opportunity is tailored for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in working with students on the autism spectrum, specifically in an Extensive Support Needs (ESN) classroom for grades 9-12.

Position Details:

  • Term: August 13, 2026 – June 4, 2026
  • Full-time schedule
  • Caseload: High school students (grades 9-12) with autism in an ESN classroom
  • Only one position available

Qualifications:

  • Active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist credential (required)
  • Experience teaching in a Special Education setting, ideally with students with autism
  • Strong ability to adapt curriculum, build individualized education plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Deep commitment to fostering student growth, independence, and self-advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
  • Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with families, related service providers, and general education teachers
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
  • Utilize innovative strategies to engage and motivate students
