Make a meaningful impact as a high school Special Education Teacher in a vibrant learning environment. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to teach three inclusion classes and two resource classes, with two dedicated prep periods each day. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, developing individualized education plans and closely monitoring progress to ensure every student achieves their potential.

In this position, you will be responsible for writing and implementing IEPs, maintaining all necessary documentation, monitoring student progress, and participating actively in IEP meetings. You’ll have the support of a knowledgeable Special Education Case Manager who will assist in maintaining compliance and guiding you through any regulatory requirements, so you can focus on what matters most—student success.

Qualifications needed for success in this role:
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper special education endorsements
• Demonstrated experience working with high-school aged students in inclusion and resource settings
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to effectively manage a caseload, balance instructional needs, and coordinate IEP processes
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere

Responsibilities include:

• Drafting and updating IEPs, attending meetings, and collaborating with families and staff
