Special Education Teacher - Belvidere, IL

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience teaching or supporting special education at the elementary level
• Strong background in ELA instruction and adapted curriculum development
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to maintain a nurturing and structured classroom
• Commitment to professional growth and collaborative teamwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated ELA instruction to 2nd grade students in a self-contained or inclusive setting
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Track and evaluate student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Engage regularly with families, providing updates and resources
• Participate in planning meetings, IEP conferences, and professional learning opportunities
