Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Hanover, Pennsylvania

This contract position focuses on providing 1:1 interpreting services for a high school student, ensuring equal access to academic instruction and school activities. Key Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (please submit score with your application)
• Experience interpreting within a school or educational environment preferred
• Completion of Pennsylvania onboarding within one year of start date
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student support
• Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, effective sign language interpretation for a high school student in academic classes and related activities
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of the interpreting profession
• Collaborate with the school team to ensure the student’s full participation and access to learning
• Adapt interpreting strategies as needed to fit academic subjects and learning objectives
