Make a real difference in a student’s academic journey as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter in a high school setting. This contract opportunity spans the full 2026-2027 school year and focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support to a high school student. The position is based at a local high school and offers a flexible schedule, with student preference for Mondays and Fridays, though days may be adjusted to best fit everyone's needs.

Candidates should bring professionalism, compassion, and specialized sign language expertise to help facilitate communication and learning during regular academic programming. The educational team is ready to welcome your contribution as a valued member supporting accessibility and inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (please provide your EIPA score with your application)
  • Compliance with Pennsylvania onboarding procedures, which must have been completed within one year of your start date
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment is highly desired
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct interpreting services for a high school student in classroom settings and throughout the school day according to the student's academic schedule
  • Ensure accurate, clear, and age-appropriate sign language interpretation
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the student’s support team to promote an accessible and inclusive educational experience
  • Maintain a supportive and professional atmosphere at all times
