Special Education Teacher | Discovery Bay, California

A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed to work with a small group of second and third grade students, providing individualized support for learners with mild to moderate needs. This rewarding contract opportunity runs from December 1st through the end of the school year, offering the chance to make a real difference in students' educational journeys.

In this full-time role (37.5 hours per week), you’ll collaborate with school staff and families at a single campus, fostering growth and academic achievement for a caseload of just 7 elementary students. Your expertise in special education will play a key role in creating engaging, inclusive lesson plans and managing IEPs to enhance each child’s learning experience.

Qualifications:

• Current, active Mild/Moderate California Special Education Credential (required)
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong ability to adapt lessons for various learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and small group interventions to 2nd and 3rd graders
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports
• Contribute to a positive and nurturing classroom environment
