Special Education Teacher - Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

This full-time, contract position is for a Preschool Special Education Teacher (Long-Term Substitute) for approximately 12 weeks, starting August 25, 2026. You’ll play a key role providing specialized education services to preschool-aged children, nurturing their growth and supporting diverse learning needs within an inclusive and dynamic environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (early childhood endorsement preferred)
• Proven experience working with preschool-aged children in special education settings
• Strong understanding of developmental needs and early intervention strategies
• Skilled in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Effective communication with students, families, and multi-disciplinary team members
• Ability to create a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills in managing classroom dynamics

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction customized for young learners with developmental delays or disabilities
• Build, review, and maintain IEPs based on each child’s unique strengths and challenges
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and engaging activities to foster cognitive, social, and emotional growth
• Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust instructional plans as needed
• Collaborate closely with parents, related service providers, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support
• Cultivate a classroom climate that promotes inclusion, safety, and encouragement
