Special Education Teacher - Akron, Ohio

Qualifications:

• Current Ohio Intervention Specialist license required
• Experience designing and implementing IEPs
• Strong knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies for students with disabilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Open to onsite or virtual candidates
• Comfortable collaborating with general education staff, families, and related service providers

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs in accordance with Ohio guidelines
• Adapt lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs and promote academic achievement
• Assess student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
• Maintain accurate and timely student records and documentation
• Partner with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
• Communicate regularly with parents and other educational professionals regarding student development
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff trainings as assigned
