Job Description
Step into a vital role shaping the future for students with a range of special needs in a supportive middle or primary school setting for the 2026–2027 academic year. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027, and involves working closely with a diverse group of students and dedicated staff, all within one school building conveniently located near Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll lead one of two unique classroom environments:
• A class serving 9–12 students with multiple disabilities, including autism, physical impairments, and some non-verbal learners, or
• A class of 10–15 students with emotional disabilities, focusing on behavioral supports, social-emotional learning, and crisis intervention strategies.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state licensure as a Special Education Teacher is required.
- Previous experience with students with multiple disabilities or emotional/behavioral needs strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and appropriate accommodations.
- Strong skills in classroom management, behavioral intervention, and collaborative teaching.
- Comfortable working in both middle and elementary/primary school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with each student’s IEP.
- Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and families to promote student growth.
- Implement data-driven behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in alignment with school protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in IEP meetings.
