Embark on an exciting opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a welcoming and dynamic elementary environment. This full-time contract role runs from August 26, 2026, through June 17, 2027, and offers the chance to make a real difference working with students in a Learning Resource Center (LRC1) setting.

Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State Special Education Teacher license and certification (required)
  • Experience with or willingness to obtain fingerprinting clearance through OSPI
  • Passion for supporting diverse learning needs at the elementary level
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience with resource or self-contained classrooms is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and regularly adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) to address student needs
  • Provide specialized academic support and instruction to students with a variety of abilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
  • Work closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families to support student success
  • Maintain accurate records and document student progress in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal student outcomes
