Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for Washington State
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching students with diverse disabilities and learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of current IEP development practices and special education laws
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Assess students’ skills and learning requirements, delivering differentiated instruction and interventions
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to provide comprehensive support
  • Maintain detailed and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development sessions, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Encourage and empower students to reach their academic, social, and behavioral goals
