This full-time position runs from late August to mid-June, offering you the chance to work directly with students in the LRC1 program. Key qualifications:

  • Current Washington Special Education (SPED) Teaching License and Certification (required)
  • Experience working with special education caseloads at the elementary level preferred
  • Ability or willingness to complete OSPI fingerprinting prior to start date
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to providing supportive and inclusive educational experiences

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students within the LRC1 classroom
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom community
  • Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to maximize student success
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports, ensuring compliance with special education standards
  • Employ effective instructional and behavioral strategies tailored to students’ needs
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities

This position offers a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) during the school year, allowing you to engage deeply with students and staff. The contract runs from August 26th, 2026, through June 17th, 2027—ideal for educators seeking a meaningful role in special education within a supportive school community.
