Job Description
Make an impact in the lives of students near Renton, WA as a Special Education Teacher! This exciting full-time contract opportunity spans from late August through mid-June, providing a stable and rewarding experience in a school community dedicated to supporting every learner.
As the dedicated SPED Teacher for an LRC1 caseload, you will help create an inclusive environment at the elementary level, offering direct instruction and individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. Collaborate closely with passionate staff, engage with families, and help each child achieve their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Washington State Special Education Teacher license and appropriate certification (required)
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to be fingerprinted through OSPI (or must currently hold valid OSPI clearance)
- Ability to cultivate positive, supportive relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs for students on your caseload
- Deliver specialized instruction based on individual needs and goals
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting strategies as necessary
- Work in partnership with general education teachers, specialists, and administration
- Communicate proactively and regularly with parents and caregivers
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
