Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school students in Connecticut. This in-person opportunity begins September 1, extending through Thanksgiving, with a schedule of Monday through Friday. You’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and help students reach their fullest academic potential in an inclusive, encouraging environment.

In this role, you will co-teach three Algebra 1 classes and lead two Academic Labs. Additionally, you’ll take on impactful case management responsibilities for students who receive pull-out services, providing tailored support to those who benefit from extra attention and advocacy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Connecticut or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience teaching at the high school level, particularly in special education settings
  • Strong knowledge of co-teaching models and academic intervention strategies
  • Exceptional organizational and case management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach Algebra 1 classes and provide differentiated instruction to ensure all students’ needs are met
  • Facilitate Academic Labs to support individualized learning plans and skill development
  • Manage caseload of students receiving pull-out services, documenting progress and communicating with families and team members
  • Implement IEPs with fidelity, ensuring compliance with all state and federal guidelines
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and school-based planning
  • Create an engaging, supportive environment where every student feels valued
