Special Education Teacher | Winsted, Connecticut

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially in grades 1 and 2
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEPs
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning needs
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support services
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and compliance
• Support positive behavioral interventions and inclusive classroom environments
