Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education.
  • Current Connecticut Special Education teaching license.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience adapting curriculum and instruction to individual student needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction to high school students with varying exceptionalities.
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique learning profile.
  • Work closely with general education teachers to modify curricula and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and goals.
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource to families and contribute to developing strategies that enhance student success.
